When a patient comes to a hospital or clinic, he is registered. Then he is forwarded to the clinical section. In clinical section, the lab technician collects the sample. One sample is separated from other using the barcode number. The barcode number is generated by the barcode machine which is connected to the PC. As soon as the sample is colleted, it is stored in better place. Then the sample goes to test stage. The test report is forwarded to the doctor and if he signs, the report goes to authorized stage. After that the patient can collect the report from the doctor and the doctor prescribes the treatment as per the report status.
Now-a-days Web based software available which allows the patient to download the authorized report. Sometimes the sample may get cancelled due to insufficient quantity or misplaced sample.
In Hospital management software, there is a certain flow. After the patient is registered, it goes to sample collection state, after that it goes to testing state. If the tested value is ok, then doctor signs on the report and the report go to authorized state. After that the patient can download or collect the report. For each and every state, there is a normal value, If the tested value exceeds the normal value, the patient name is displayed in the abnormal test result. In some software, different colors are used to show the status of the report as well as the abnormal report.
